New Products Announcement
The Mimesis 36+
For the numerous users of the Mimesis 36 existing version, there is nothing to worry in terms of performance. However, in order to better match the new line of Mimeis 20, Mimesis 22, and Mimesis 29 products, we decided to slightly modify the look of the Mimesis 36 front panel, with the same 3d appearance and the same gold-plated identification label. The Mimesis 36 shipping since January 1st are all equipped with the new front panel.
Products Availability
The Mimesis 29 is shipping since December
No need to wait longer to order your Mimesis 29 new wonder-amp. After a pre-serial of 10 units in December, the proiduct is perfectly stabilized and now shipping in quantity.
The Epilogue1 is shipping in February
By the first week of February, we start shipping the Epilogue1, the satellite system, first part of the full Epilogue system. In addition to the satellites themselves, Goldmund is proposing a simple foot system to put the satellite in its optimal listening position and provide the perfect mechanical grounding (a very heavy steel bar of 3cm in diameter !) to the speaker.
The AC-Curator, Goldmund AC line conditioner will ship by end of February
The AC-Curator, first introduction of Goldmund in the AC line conditioner family of products should be ready for shipping by the end of February. Expect the first dealers shipments by then.
The Goldmund first product suppression
For the first time in its history, Goldmund decided to cancel production of two products, the Mimesis 6.5 and Mimesis 6.2. Never before had Goldmund deliberately suppressed manufacturing of a product in its line. Only lack of demand has driven Goldmund to suppress production of obsolete models in the past. But with the introduction of the SRM Mono amplifier and the extraordinary success of the Goldmund SRA amplifier, the extra cost of the Mimesis 6 family was simply becoming too difficult to justify.
Mimesis 20 and Mimesis 22 production has more delay
After a first pre-serial sent in last November, the Mimesis 20 and the Mimesis 22 are still not produced in serial. Reasons are basically a program of optimization that Goldmund decided after launching the first pre-serial. The modifications brought to the two products are of two kind :
-
Hardware :
- changes in the power supply for the Mimesis 20 providing a more liquid reproduction of high-frequencies, change in the gain settings on the Mimesis 22, allowing a larger range of level adjustments for various sources.
-
Software :
- Improvement of the muting timing in the Mimesis 20, improvement of the volume control in the Mimesis 22.
Technical notes
Be careful when using the SRA or another fast amplifier !
As all the very fast amplifiers, the SRA is very sensitive to loop radiation between the input and output (speaker) cables of the amplifier. If you use one of these amplifiers, be careful to avoid parallel running of the interconnects coming from the preamp and the speaker cables. For long-time Goldmund amplifiers users, the trick is known. But with the much broader diffusion of the SRA and the inexperienced users who could reach their first high-performance amplifier with the SRA, the precaution may have to be repeated once more.
