New Products - Product Improvements
The recent vogue for integrated amps was not that successful for Goldmund with the previous SR Integrated because it was missing the remote control volume.
We could have done that only and the sales would have jumped, despite the necessary price increase. But what we did by putting inside the SRM circuit using the JOB design had a much greater impact on the unit perceived value. Not only the new SR Integrated is much more powerful, but the sound quality has been drastically improved, to a point nobody expected obviously. With an additional easier grounding quality in any system configuration, the SR Integrated is now easier than ever to install and use and more silent than any other amp of its type.
-
Count on your fingers :
- Much more powerful than any competition.
- Much better sounding (the celebrated SRM sound).
- Much quieter.
- Much better remote volume (motorized potentiometer).
- Much better remote control distance (patented Goldmund design).
- You may imagine the success we are having with that beast. Whoooo.
DVD upgrade for our CD transport may be coming soon.
Proud owners of a Goldmund Mimesis 36, still the best CD playing device on the planet, would not exchange it for any other machine, even if it reads DVD, and we understand. But imagine that the same machine could now read both the CDs and the DVD with the same quality…
The upgrade was expected since the DVD appeared. We had to wait for decent DVD OEM parts to be able to tempt it. And most of what was proposed so far was quite unacceptable for a Goldmund user. But news are now better. We are starting to test decent solutions which could become THE solution before the end of the year.
So, if you own a Mimesis 36 or a Mimesis 39 and you dream of getting the same sound quality watching a movie, the wait may be shorter than you expected.

For the Home-Theater amateur : read our Home-Theater pages.
Goldmund is convinced for long that the difference between only-Audio and Home-Theater sound systems will disappear as soon as the Home-Theater Audio components acquire a minimum decent quality. In order to better serve Goldmund-level customers who decide that Home-Theater is in their future but do not want to cut corners in their Audio quality, Goldmund is currently designing several products of very high sounding quality but adapted to the Home-Theater environment.
The Goldmund Web site now provides some explanation on the basic principles Goldmund has experimentally developed for this new environment and its new products.
We strongly recommend these pages to be used by any of our dealers and customers to better understand or explain our positions.
Warning : these pages are describing an approach which may not been finalized yet. We may discover new rules and modify our position accordingly. So, rather than a dogmatic position, consider this is the base of discussion we want to create with all top specialists around the world, including our first-equipped customers, in order to clarify a domain where commercial bulls.. is reigning and real information is difficult to get. More, real quality demonstration is usually inaccessible and we will continue to provide in these pages the results we experienced in our test setup, as well as the experience we may have collected from first installed customers.
