GOLDMUND - Swiss Made High-End Audio Equipment

The second Home-Theater product to become available from Goldmund after the Epilogue Speaker is the Goldmund SR5, a five channel amplifier which is in fact the equivalent of 5 x Goldmund SRM amplifier in a single box and for the price of one single pair of the new SRM2 (3 channels for free !).

With 150W per channel, the sound quality and especially the extraordinary dynamic capability of the SRM, this amplifier is already the best sounding multi-channel ever produced. And in the SR price range ! For any Home-Theater system, even the most ambitious ones, there is no better single amp in existence.

You may have already seen the approach we are taking for developing less expensive Home-Theater Speakers in our web side Theater3 page. The first available product is already in the prototyping stage and will be called the Theater3 Speaker system.

It is a modular approach like the Epilogue, but simpler. The main pair of speakers (first to become available soon) is made of full range units that can be divided internally in 2 separate speakers. Each unit uses two identical 21 cm woofers with our exclusive “Velvet Kevlar” cones and two identical tweeters. It can be split in two speakers for using it in a Home-Theater system. The top half becomes then the right and left channels and the bottom ones the phantom center channel.

When used alone, the Theater3 Speakers are mounted on a� 60cm high stand. Each speaker size is 66cm high x 27cm wide x 55cm deep. The extreme quality of the drivers and crossovers guarantees an extremely linear bandwidth from below 40Hz to above 25kHz with spectacular dynamics. For cost reasons, the enclosures are finished in black painted wood.

The Xover are passive but may be replaced by built-in amps with digital inputs soon. When used in 2 channels only, the Theater3 may be single-amped, bi-wired or bi-amped.

The second unit available will be a pair of Theater3 Subwoofer that can be mouted under the main speakers, extending the bandwidth below 30Hz and the dynamic range in the low frequency band. They will be self powered and provided with electronic Xover like the Epilogue 3. Each use 2 x 21 cm of the same type as in the main unit.
