New Products - Product Improvements
The Mimesis 21 is here.
The Mimesis 21 is the new Goldmund High End line D/A converter. Based on the Alize 2 technology, it may decode signals up to 96kHz 24bits. With front panel and remote controlled Volume Control, it may be used as a digital preamplifier by users having no analogue source to connect. 8 inputs are available with 3 RCA SPDIF unbalanced, 3 XLR AES/EBU Balanced, one ATT optical and one Toslink optical. The only front panel controls are the input selector and the digitally controlled output volume.
The sound quality will be ever refined from our previous Alize 2 designs with exceptionally smooth treble and very clean bass. As for the other Alize 2 machines, the time accuracy of the unit is exceptional.
The control software will be accessible externally through the RS 232 connection so any software upgrade may be done easily.
More, the unit will be 100% controllable by any external computers or any sophisticated remote control systems using the RS 232 serial port.
The Mimesis 21 should be available by early May.
The new Stellavox PW1 Professional Power Amplifier find friends among amateurs.
The new Stellavox PW1 mono power amplifier has been designed for professionals. Using the JOB circuit with 200W RMS on 8 Ohms, it has everything to be the fastest and most time-accurate power amps in any top professional studio or for measurement benches in laboratories. Especially it is unique by its extraordinary time accuracy.
What shows its professional vocation may be the existence of both XLR balanced and RCA inbalanced inputs, its precision 1dB input attenuator or its very conservative specs.
Once again, as for the Stellavox ST2 D/A converter now acclaimed in Japan as the best possible deal in D/A converters, despite that professional vocation, we know plenty of audiophiles who are expecting its appearance mid April to equip their system, especially in multichannels systems where one mono amp of such quality per speaker is by far the easiest solution. And quite an affordable one too…
Small DVD first ?
We are working on DVD for some time now and every one of our customer, dealer or distributor was expecting (or pushing) us to announce something soon. Most amateurs were expecting the upgrade for the Mimesis 36 and 39 first. Some thought we could mark a point by making now THE reference DVD even above the 36.
All wrong guys !
We should be in position to announce in our next newsletter the SR line Video DVD. So watch it coming in early May.
Will be a Goldmund. Will be sounding better, will also be better for picture quality than all the existing “average machines” as well as the pompous “better machines” probably… The looks will have the same gorgeous Goldmund satin silver finish and the mechanics will be remarkable, as you may expect for Goldmund. And because it is an SR, the price will be accessible.
Next model from Goldmund could be really unaccessible… But that’s another story.

New Packaging.
The Goldmund boxes will be improved progressively for all our models. With stronger protection, better look and clearer marking it will help the dealers and distributors to keep their inventory, and the customer if they have to move their equipment. We hope you will all appreciate. Tell us anyhow.
