GOLDMUND - Swiss Made High-End Audio Equipment

The new digital input module for these amplifiers will be ready to ship soon. And it is the ideal tool for building the best fully digital systems. Both the Mimesis 29M and the Mimesis 29.4M may now be equipped with this digital input module which replaces the back panel each of these amps displays in standard. Using the latest Goldmund Alize3 technology, the digital input module has level adjustment, a routing of the SPDIF signal for mono amps and RCA connections. Availability is planned for December 2001.

After a few months of interruption, the production of the famous Goldmund Powercord is now returned to normal. Both the Standard Low power version and the Special High power version are available again and sounding better than ever. They are in stock right now.

Many of our faithful customers were begging us to bringing it back quickly… We didn’t.

Instead, we took our time to totally redesign the Mimesis 22 into its fabulous new Millennium edition. And believe us, you won’t be disappointed. With its new computer controlled potentiometers, its new ultra-silent power supply and the optimized A20 modules, the new 22 is worth the wait. With an even better sound, more refined, more accurate and with its ultra-high-tech design, it will stand as THE Ultimate Preamplifier any to collector will fight to own and use.

And the Mimesis 22M Millennium edition is now ready for shipment, that’s good news.

For the rational use of the Mimesis 22M Millennium with digital sources, the Digital Plug-in option will be available in October. We remind you it will provide the Mimesis 22M with 7 additional inputs, all digital (3 RCA, 2 XLR, 1 Toslink, 1 ATT) among which you may also define one Direct-Cinema (SSP) which may be useful when the Chiasma is out.

For the upgrade fanatics, the Mimesis 22M circuits may be incorporated in a Mimesis 22 old chassis, but all the electronics has to be changed, and 2 additional holes have to be drilled in the chassis. This is quite some update and it’s price will be high. But it saves you the change of the chassis which remains literally identical.

And do not forget we will also have the new Mimesis 20, the Mimesis 20M Millennium Edition available in October. More about it in our next issue.

We showed you this new full-metal design speaker from Goldmund in its first passive version. Now we have in prototype the active version, due to be available in January for the Winter CES.

The speaker is identical, and both crossovers remain passive. But the back panel of the speaker now receives a 2 channel JOB amplifier and Alize 3 module providing both analogue and digital inputs, step attenuation, all in standard. This could become the killing device to make a 3 speakers, 6 channels, ultra-small Home-Theater Audio System to match a high-quality plasma panel.

We announced it for delivery the 1st of January 2001, so all Millennium have been sold this year.

But with its very slow production, we do not have many installed yet.

Despite this, we may proudly announce that the Millennium Amplifier has been the best product for Goldmund in 2001 sales. And with its 3 times better result than our second best product in the statistics (which happens to be the Epilogue 1), it should remain so for some time. Quite a performance for a product which was totally unknown last year….

The 3rd quarter of 2001 will set new records in both sales and profit for Goldmund.

Traditionally slow because many customers are on holiday, because the Goldmund assembly line people are also on holiday (lazy Europe, we know..!!.), and this year even worse with the economy slowdown in most countries and the September tragedy, our 3rd sales quarter of 2001 is bigger than the 1st and second… The very serious growth of our brand position in Japan, our very good sales in China-Hong-Kong-Taiwan area and the highest than ever quality of our products have made it. Thank you to all of you who support us for this performance.

We are hard working on finishing the design of these highly expected products, in order to have a prototype for the CES in Las Vegas. The Chiasma Computer Box is ready and working, but the the Mimesis 24 is still not. We remind you that the Mimesis 24 is the Analogue-Digital Audio Input box for the Chiasma 1. It will have 7 analogue inputs (including 2 x 6 channels for Super Audio CD and DVD Audio) and 7 digital Audio inputs. It will include all the switching and channel allocating functions, as well as the 8 channels Goldmund multi-channel decoder, a revolutionnary design fully compatible with AC3 signal but considerably improved by the AudioNetworks Dase technology. For those who missed a chapter, AudioNetworks is one of the Goldmund sister companies which developed improved multi-channel decoders among other Audio enhancement software.

Anyhow, you should see the new babies if you visit us in Vegas next January.
