New Products - Product Improvements

Small improvement in Mimesis 29 and 29.4 Millennium edition.

Mimesis 29 and 29.4

In order to minimize the risks of transport damage and minimize the length of cabling, the next Mimesis 29 and 29.4 batches will receive additional small PCBs in the back panel of the amp to better attach additional components which were mounted on the wires before. It will also provide additional protection for the amplifier and its attached speakers, and the desymmetrization circuit for the inputs.

No change in performance is expected, except maybe for a small improvement in bandwidth due to the cabling reduction. We just wanted you to know it before it happens, so you do not get too puzzled if you open your new amp and find it different…

Mimesis 24 Multi-channel Control Unit is finally 32 channels output !

Mimesis 24 Rear Panel

During last years, we did not especially like the multi-channel formats changing so often.

After the classic 5.1, we saw the 7.1 gain ground and the 9.1 being close, without mentioning the original 16 speakers systems or the future vertical formats, or the EX, or the THX or etc…

If you bought an expensive 5.1 processor, you simply had to throw it away if you needed to use any of these new formats.

Nice, isn’t it ?

With the Goldmund Epilogue system (and with the Logos too, especially when the full Logos speaker line will become available), some special formats involving various number of speakers have to be introduced, and will continue to evolve.

You may also wish to have secondary rooms, sometimes in 2 channel, sometimes in multi-channel, and not always with the same speaker configuration as the main room. Another serious limitation of the fixed output format.

Conclusion was obvious : we had to make the output format flexible, changeable by software without any unit hardware change. Another conclusion : competition never had enough channels, so we had to push it further to satisfy everybody.

Here is the Goldmund solution : 32 output channels, usable in any configuration from 16 rooms of 2 channels to 2 rooms of 16 or even one room of 32 if you find the format more attractive or like to live in a speaker crowd…

Software channel configuration, with any kind of ponderation, volume control, or source distribution between them, means we had to have a full digital matrixing capability from the maximum potential sources of 44 channels (for the Mimesis 24) to the output 32 channels. The potential mix formulas being so numerous, we will offer them on our web site so any new format can be downloaded to the unit.

And Voila ! Obsolescence is dead. Welcome to the Mimesis 24 universality.

Interesting new product from JOB, our sister company

We refer you to the JOB website at www.jobsys.com to see the new JOB Digital Preamp, probably the smallest and most accurate ever made. Using our Alize3 module and a simplistic approach, JOB provides ultimate performance at minimum cost for the user.

Interesting new product from Stellavox, another sister company

We refer you to the Stellavox website at www.stellavox.com to get some idea of the first professional A/D unit they are ready to introduce soon. This is aimed to be the absolute worldwide reference in A/D accuracy with extreme flexibility for studio use and especially CD and DVD mastering. But it may be interesting to know for a Goldmund user, since most of our future systems will be 100% digital and most of our users still have one or two top-quality analogue sources.

Marketing News

And another new Goldmund sister company (Big Family, isn’t it?): Goldmund Canada Inc.

Since we are in the family news, we are very pleased to announce the newborn Goldmund Canada company, which will be distributing Goldmund and Stellavox in Canada. You will find all practical information on our web site, but let us say we are extremely happy to welcome Goldmund Canada, and its CEO, Jacques Champagne Royer, in the family. We wish the new baby a long and prosperous life.
