The new Goldmund Digins, digital input Add-ons modules for Power amps

The new Goldmund Digital Input (D/A) modules are now available for both the Mimesis 29.4 and the Millennium. They are options allowing to replace the analogue inputs of these amps with a digital SPDIF connection. They provide input and output connectors, a channel selection, and a level attenuator in the analogue domain to compensate for high efficiency speakers.

For those who do not have the chance to use Millenniums or Mimesis 29.4s, Goldmund is also introducing what we called the Digin Mono, a very small black box, self powered D/A which has the same capabilities and may be associated to the other amps, including non-Goldmund ones if you need to feed them directly with a digital signal.

These digital input modules are needed in any configuration where the signal is sent to the amps in the digital domain, which will be more and more frequent, and they are already needed if you use a Goldmund Mimesis 24 Digital Multi-channel Controller.

All these new D/A modules use the new Alize 4 circuit (see below)

The new Goldmund Alize 4 D/A module

We improved it again…

With less DC offset, a better noise floor due to the new 4 layers PCB, and several new features used for the full Digital Systems setup, the Alize 4 sounds better, is easier to use and can easily replace an Alize 3 module in all units which used it, including the Mimesis 21, SRDA2, and other similar units. Immediately available.

The Goldmund Video Cables family

The family of Goldmund Video cables is now finally completed.

Goldmund DVI Cable

The new Goldmund Long DVI cable

We now have long DVI cables for Digital Video distribution, a must in most Home-Theater setups where the projector is usually far away from the DVD machine or the Video switch. Instead of the usual 3m (10ft) limit, the Goldmund long DVI cable now allow DVI connection of 50m (150ft) or more without signal degradation.

For those still using analogue Video, we also have developed a Lineal cable of highest possible quality for RGB or Component Video analogue links. Available in triplet with BNC connectors, we made it standard in 2m, 4m, 6m and 10m. If you want to test it just link a DVD with progressive component output to any plasma or projector with any top Video cable and compare it with the Goldmund cable. If it doesn’t blow your mind, check your glasses !

Ever heard of the 8.2 Goldmund Multi-Channel format ?

Sure you know what a 5.1 format is. Sure you heard about the 7.1 too. You have watched plenty of Dolby Digital encoded films and some DTS too. But what is the 8.2 ?

8.2 is a Goldmund speaker format that may be applied to a 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Digital or DTS encoded signal. It allows a much better blending of the center channel into the screen with the right and left channels, it allows the subwoofer to work 100% in phase with the right, left and center channels and allow a considerable flexibility in installing the Surround Channels. You may have a sub in the back, lateral speakers etc.. improving considerably the surround positioning of the sound in most films.

On the market today, only the Goldmund Mimesis 24 Multi-channel processor allows to play the 8.2 as easily as the 5.1 or 7.1. No other existing processor provides this flexibility. No other processor may either switch instantly a full 5.1 or 7.1 speaker system setup from Dolby digital to Stereo without introducing some time error. And this is what all Audio enthusiast ever wanted to do : switch their system from 2 channels to multi channels without the smallest quality compromise.

Only the Goldmund Mimesis 24 allows you to do that.

A Spectacular USA Dealer Setup

Epilogue Home Theater Setup

Dealers who decide to display a full Epilogue system in their demonstration room are already quite limited in number around the world, and Ric Loomis from Audible Fidelity in Nashville is the first one in the USA.

Even more rare, he decided to do it as a full Home Theater setup, which is unique to our knowledge.

Using a Barco 1209S (also known as Cinemax 9), still one of the 2 or 3 best possible projectors for a ultra-high end system, a very large size screen (as recommended by Goldmund), he is providing the best Home Theater demonstration we have seen in a dealer’s room so far.

Even if you are not part of the big Country Music money Ric is dealing with, it is worth a visit, for sure.

And if you can afford it, Ric may be the most competent guy to help you reach summits in sound and video quality that most US dealers have not approached yet.
