The Goldmund first Wireless Speaker on lab test.
Planned to be delivered before the end of 2003, the first Goldmund wireless speaker is already on test. Based on an active Logos, it will be a single stereo speaker, ideal to locate in an office, bedroom or anywhere where highest Goldmund quality is needed in a small autonomous package is needed. Difficult to recognize from the regular Active Logos, it only displays a small reinforcement on the back from where protrudes a very discreet antenna. Needing only an AC connection, it will receive music from a Chiasma system as the other Chiasma 10 and Chiasma 11 receivers. Since you may control the Chiasma, volume included, from any wireless PC, Laptop, Tablet PC, you may need nothing else to control music in your office. And what a quality ! Absolutely top notch Goldmund sound, extremely high dynamics (you get 2 x 200W amps), and the subtle spatial effect created from the Single Stereo Speaker (a concept already encountered in the JOB Speaker). And no cable!
We should display it at the next Las Vegas CES, and in the meantime we will equip few rooms in the Goldmund House in Los Angeles.
The Goldmund Eidos Reference is on subscription in September.
For the absolute purists who are still dreaming of the Goldmund Reference record player, the new Eidos promises to be quite a beast.
With its suspended chassis, incorporated table, ultra high precision reading mechanism, multi-format playback, unique monaural D/A sound connection and Goldmund new optical DVI Video connection, the Eidos Reference will have no equivalent in image or sound quality.
As for other of the Goldmund “crazy” products, it will only be built on subscription and the total quantity will be limited to 50 units worldwide… And we should show you a picture in September !
A future dream : the Goldmund Custom Speaker Packages
Suppose you don’t like the Goldmund speakers aesthetics or price… Suppose you like their sound so much you can’t decide to buy anything else. What a dilemma…
To answer a frequent demand from our Custom Shop customers, the richest (you know those celebrities who can’t take no for an answer..) or the cheapest (the ones who want a full Epilogue speaker system for the price of a bookshelf speaker because they already spent 1M$ in their house renovation..) we are currently developing a solution which may find its way to the most-difficult-to-satisfy among our Non-Goldmund-Speaker customers.
The solution is to use a non-Goldmund speaker that you especially favor for its unique aesthetics, his high playing level or its fabulously low price for the quality… You buy them, but we provide you with a funny little piece of software to load into your Goldmund electronics that could make them work the way they should to mach the most demanding Goldmund customer’s sonic needs.
Doesn’t that sound interesting ? Impossible ? No, Sir.
Look at what kind of Grand Piano sound you can get from the best synthesizers, or the best amp or mike simulator now universally used in music recording ? The miracle of a DSP is everywhere, even in the Goldmund best sounding electronics like the Mimesis 20 or 24…
Be patient. The first “Package” could come for those who wants to play Rock n’ Roll with the full power of their 6 x Mimesis 29.4M but are afraid to break a Full Epilogue doing so… The solution could be a Goldmund package based on one of the famous high level PA speakers very famous in Japan audiophile circles, but also used in some big Home Theater installations in the USA.
As is, we never found this type of speaker satisfying enough for high quality music. Properly modified and amplified by Goldmund electronics, they could prove to be quite accurate, and the Goldmund package of electronics to shake them quite reasonable in price.
A dream for the rock fans with ears…
And of course we will work on other speakers too, some famous ones we do not find accurate enough, etc…
