GOLDMUND - Swiss Made High-End Audio Equipment

Special Configurator program is needed to configure a Mimesis 24F in a specific system. It may be installed easily on any windows operating systems and it is also used to download the resulting configuration to the Mimesis 24F.

Based on the Mimesis 24 configurator, this new configurator version has three additional functions:

• Maximum number of available filters is set to:
  • 8 for the output 1 to 4 (channel 1)
  • 8 for the output 1 to 4 (channel 2)
  • 8 for the putput 13 to 16 (channel 1)
  • 8 for the output 13 to 16 (channel 2)
• Implementation of high-pass, low-pass and band-reject filters
• Choice of 3 different filters types (Butterworth, Bessel, Tchebycheff)
• Fine step delay tuning
• Video and audio synchronization

These new functions limit the number of output channels to 16. The available outputs are 1 to 4 and 13 to 16.

In order to upgrade your Mimesis 24 to a Mimesis 24F version or upgrade the version of your Mimesis 24F, please follow the procedure below.

1. Download part
   • Download the program: M24F_Setup.exe (Setup version 1.25, 23 Feb 2007)
   • Run the program and follow the installation stages.
2. Mimesis 24F software installation part
   The upgrade program is an enhanced version of the previous programs. The upgrade process takes place automatically without need to select individual files.
   • Connect your Mimesis 24 to your computer using a RS232 null modem cable and power ON your machine.
   • Double-click on the icon M24Fconf located on your computer desktop. A message asks you if you want to convert or upgrade your Mimesis 24. Click Yes.
   • A second window appears, click Proceed. Finally, if you are converting your Mimesis 24 to Mimesis 24F, a message asks you to confirm the conversion. Click Yes. The upgrade task begins. It lasts about 35 minutes. Do not use your computer during the upgrade task. At the end of the upgrade, the configurator appears. The upgrade from Mimesis 24 into Mimesis 24F is complete. Please read the Configuration part below to configure your machine.
3. Configuration part
   • Click on Load a configuration file and select DefConf_customer.dat
   • The file is located in the directory \M24F.
   • The configuration edition takes place in two stages:
     • Configure your Mimesis 24F as desired.
     • Please consult the files M24FConf.pdf and FilterConf.pdf for further information. These files are available in the Start Menu at the path:
       Start\Programs\Goldmund\M24F\Documentation...
     • Upload your configuration into your Mimesis 24F.
   • To tune fine delays and filters, you can reedit your configuration and use the Test buttons to load new delays and filters into your Mimesis 24F for verification.
   • After having finished editing your configuration, save it by clicking on Save configuration to file.
   • Upload your configuration into your Mimesis 24F by clicking on Upload configuration into M24F.

Note: for future use, a shortcut of the configurator program is available on your computer desktop as well as in the Start Menu at the path:
Start\Programs\Goldmund\M24F...

If you need to remove the installation, it is recommended to do it properly using the program Uninstall.exe , available in the Start Menu at the path: Start\Programs\Goldmund\M24F...
All directories and files are removed apart from the user customized files: *.dat and *.fil.
