The TH³ Principle
Goldmund, known for 20 years for designing the most exceptional Audio components on earth, decided, several years ago, to satisfy his most demanding customers in developing the most advanced Home-Theater system ever dreamed of.
For the Ultimate Home-Theater Systems, Goldmund created the Epilogue System, a phenomenal 32 drivers system where the Right and Left channels, but also the Center and Subwoofer channels were treated in a new revolutionary way, that we call the TH³™, allowing the perfect time alignment of the full front speakers combination. To reach that goal, absolutely unique in the industry, the Epilogue uses 5 separate boxes, each of them specializing in its frequency range and channel use but staying perfectly time aligned from far beyond 20 kHz to far below 20 Hz.
When used with a time aligned multichannel decoding system like the new Mimesis 24 (and soon available in more affordable Goldmund processors), the time aligned front channels of such a speaker allow to properly re-create a real sound imaging on the screen with natural space distribution, perfect localization and realistic ambiance. This allows Goldmund to avoid the center channel speaker which is always detrimental for the correct image recreation. Either because it is located above or under the screen instead of in its center, or because it is hidden behind a perforated screen which is even worse for the sound quality. In addition the three front speaker are creating a comb-effect distortion with incorrect phase response and imaging.
In order to provide a sollution to implement the TH3 concept in less expensive speaker system, Goldmund introduced the Trilogue Speaker and then the Logos Speaker which include in the unique right and left speaker the additional speakers that are creating the real center channel where it should be located, and perfectly in phase with the right ands left. In a Goldmund Trilogue or Logos typical configuration, the full 5.1 system is made of only 2 speakers in the front, located adjacent to the screen, and one singler or a pair of rear speaker creating a diffuse field.
With much easier setup and an immediately realistic space recreation, the TH³ Speaker Concept is a revolutionary setup for high quality home theaters which dramatically improve the credibility of any film sound track.
Its most spectacular advantage is probably the capability to recreate a time-aligned very natural Surround effect for more than the usual single-and-well-centered listener.
