GOLDMUND - Swiss Made High-End Audio Equipment

By the last week of February, we started shipping the Epilogue1 Satellite System, the first part of the full Epilogue Home Theater Speaker System. This speaker is a full range, high dynamics satellite, allowing a high quality reproduction in a High-End Audio system or a very credible sound base for a small Home-Theater installation. In addition to the satellites themselves, Goldmund is proposing a simple foot to put the satellite in its optimal listening position and provide the perfect mechanical grounding (a very heavy steel bar of 3cm in diameter !) to the speaker.

After a first pre-serial sent in last November, the Mimesis 20 and the Mimesis 22 are still not produced in serial. Reasons are basically a program of optimization that Goldmund decided after launching the first pre-serial. The modifications brought to the two products are of two kind :

• Hardware :
  • changes in the power supply for the Mimesis 20 providing a more liquid reproduction of high-frequencies, change in the gain settings on the Mimesis 22, allowing a larger range of level adjustments for various sources.
• Software :
  • Improvement of the muting timing in the Mimesis 20, improvement of the volume control in the Mimesis 22.

As all the very fast amplifiers, these amps are very sensitive to oscillation when improperly grounded. So, take the following precautions :

• Never run the amp without shorting input plugs or connection to a preamp.
• Never run the input cable and output cables parallel.
• Always use very good shielded cables.
• Never leave the amp ungrounded either by using star grounding or the AC plug.

We are sold out of our 1996 catalogue. In 1997, we will publish a simple catalogue edition to make the customers patient. By the end of the year, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, Goldmund will print a limited edition of "The Goldmund Book", a thicker luxury book on the company, its organization and its products. So our best customers will have access to the Goldmund book and a yearly updated product catalogue in a lighter form.
