New Products - Product Improvements

Soon to be introduced : The Mimesis 29.4

Of course, you expected it. After the first very encouraging feedback we received on the Mimesis 29, we had no other choice than replacing the Mimesis 9.4 mono unit using the new technology. This will be done by August, when we will present the prototype of the new Mimesis 29.4. A 500W Mono unit, the new amp is deeper than the 29 but keeps the other dimensions of its stereo sibling. It will provide an input level adjustment, and a front panel indicator to control its (certainly spectacular) behavior.

The new Epilogue 2 Woofer Section

Starting delivery this fall, the new Bass enclosure of the full Epilogue system is currently under beta testing. This unit will become the middle bass section of the future “Full Epilogue” but may immediately be associated with the Epilogue 1 satellite to create a full-range very dynamic and very extended 2-enclosure 3-way system. Each enclosure uses 4 x 8” woofers with a new type of un-structured cone material. The bass drivers are coupled two by two in a new innovative configuration where the 2 front units are assembled with the motor facing the listener (you have a guaranteed surprise effect when you remove the grills !).

The unit is delivered with a built-in crossover module which provides the necessary cutoff for the satellite and the low-pass filter of the bass units. The Epilogue 2 bass unit has to be separately amplified with gain adjustment. More on that later.

Coming finally this summer to you : The Goldmund AC-Curator

For several months, we announced its arrival and delivered protortypes. Adjusting several functions from these first experiences, we finally launched the serial production. The best way to make your system more ACCurate, is now finally becoming available. The worst is that, in the meantime we AC-Cumulated so many orders that the coming customers now will have to wait up to September to get their new toy. Please forgive us, we tried only to make it better…

Technical Corner

The Mimesis 22 ground loop clarified

Some of our first customers using the new Mimesis 22 reported abnormal level of hum in their system, despite the very exceptional signal to noise ratio of this new flagship preamplifier. We first had difficulties to reproduce the problem, all the “defective” machines tested in our test systems (3 different systems) being definitively dead silent… Thanks to a final try made in another system, we finally discovered that the inside grounding links were inappropriate, creating a severe ground loop in a (very rare) case, when none equipment in the full system was properly grounded. Modification should be available soon.

The Mimesis 20 becomes the Goldmund Best Seller Ever

For more than 3 years, quarter after quarter our sales statistics showed us that the best product we ever made in sales result was the Mimesis 36 CD transport. This 97 second quarter sees for the first time the Mimesis 36 overpassed by the Mimesis 20, now our best-seller ever. No doubt this could explain the longer and longer waiting list… Thanks for your patience…
