The new Goldmund DA module is postponed
We told you we were preparing a DA module upgrade for our Mimesis 14 and Mimesis 12 D/A converters. Alas, due to a failure of the new Japanese chip we were investigating and which is not yet fulfilling its specs promises, we have to postpone by 3 months the delivery of our new modules. Sorry and please be patient. We will keep you informed.
Still long delays in Mimesis 20 and Mimesis 22 delivery
We announced in our last newsletter the worldwide unexpected success of our Mimesis 20 and 22. Long waiting list and the very slow manufacturing process of these unique pieces (we need to manually tune each of the modules of a Mimesis 20, to give you an idea !) are forcing us to deliver these units extremely slowly. Please advise your customers and explain them what they will get to justify the wait.
Announcement of the Goldmund Remote Control Computer for the Mimesis 20 and Mimesis 22
If we are quite slow to deliver, we are dramatically improving the functionality of the Mimesis 20 and 22 by introducing the Goldmund Remote Control computer. A Pentium 166MHz unit, with touchscreen capability, this new unit will be connected to the Mimesis 20 and 22 and allow several new configuration facilities. Used with the new release 1 of the Mimesis 20 and 22 software (we have now the beta version), it allows an easy control of the analogue and digital inputs (and soon the video inputs too, with the Mimesis 24 software), a much easier configuration of the units (all the setup functions are now graphically accessible). We expect first delivery in October. The new software release 1 will provide much better control of the volume of the Mimesis 22 (with potentiometers now fully pre-calibrated) and provides phase, muting and other new functions on the front panel of both units. In addition, it includes a full proprietary communication software to dialog with the Goldmund Remote Control Computer. The Release 1 will be accessible as an upgrade by late September.

The first information about the future A20 Module
With the delivery of the number 1000 of the now famous A2 module, Goldmund recently announced the development of the A20 improved module, to be available before the end of the year. This module, pin compatible with the A2 module, most probably finished in Platinum, will be available as an upgrade. It uses a new circuit improved over the A2 circuit and provides even better transparency and control to any Goldmund circuit using it, as did the A2 Module when introduced few years ago, but one further step ahead. The circuit will be individually tuned and is very similar to the circuit now used in the Mimesis 29. It is issued from the collaboration with the new JOB R&D team (look in our Web site).

The Goldmund-Fedex deal : an improved Goldmund service
We all suffered from the UPS recent USA strike. In order to avoid further delays and even improve our service to our USA dealers, Goldmund, as many other companies, decided to temporarily switch to Fedex. A much better and more reliable service, a practical Internet link to trace shipping and a faster delivery, all concurred to make this forced experience a success. So, logically, and despite a slightly higher cost, we proposed Fedex a global move of all our shipments. More than 8 tons of goods a year and a six digit business figure made our request, despite the high discount negotiated, a quite attractive one. We should be able to give you soon our new Fedex account.
