New Products - Product Improvements
You are all waiting for Goldmund to get back on the digital format competition and what we are preparing may have worth the wait. The new Alize 2 Goldmund technology will be another of those considerable step that our company is proud to announce regularly.
The new generation of modules we are preparing will all be 24 bits. That’s a point.
They will also provide the now required 96kHz. (And 192kHz as soon as the necessary chips will exist, and the sources too !)
What you may not have expected however is the considerable progress this new technology will introduce in the regular CD format sonic quality. We did not even believed our ears when we heard the first prototypes recently.
Lower distortion, with a much more natural harmonic spectrum (mostly harmonic 2) make the new technology sound like tubes for the nostalgic.
The low level linearity is far improved as is the noise floor level, providing details like you never thought possible from a CD.
We have not decided yet which different type of modules will be produced from that technology. We expect an upgrade program to be announced soon for users of SRDA and 39DA++/SRCD.
We may also use this new technology in the future Mimesis 11 D/A converter/digital preamplifier.

The most extreme A/D circuitry is coming from Goldmund.
In the future, if you use analogue sources, you will probably convert the analogue signal they produce to digital in order to benefit of the numerous digital processing software and hardware we are preparing. In our large PC-Theater system, the Mimesis 22 output will be converted to digital to benefit of the performance of the Mimesis 20 and Chiasma Processor.
For all those needs we had to develop the most advanced A/D circuitry existing. A circuit that keeps the analogue subtlety and make you forget about analogue systems without frustration.
Our research people have done this, and even better.

Our first Home-Theater product is already a bestseller !
With immediate acceptation from all the main markets, an exceptional reception in Japan (despite their relatively lower Home-Theater penetration factor) the SR5 success breaks new records.
Of course, we were aware of the market trend towards the Home-Theater products rather than regular stereo components.
Of course, we were aware of the real poor quality of most the 5 channels available so far as if the theater amateur were deaf by definition…
Of course, we priced the SR5 pretty reasonably so you finally get 5 channels of SRM for the price of 2 single channel SRM ! A calculation anybody can do.
Anyhow we did not expect the jump customers made to this product. Knowing the similarly phenomenal price/quality of the Theater3 Speaker we should introduce soon, maybe we should buy a bigger production space already !
