New Products - Product Improvements
First Look at new members of the Trilogue family
In the line of more affordable speakers for Home-Theater applications, Goldmund is actively preparing its next products, in the Trilogue family.
A first look at prototypes of the Trilogue Subwoofer and Monologue Rear dual way speaker was possible recently in Geneva, where Georges Bernard was tuning the mechanics of these new speakers. Do not care for the finish, nor the shape of the Monologue which is totally different from the final product, those are only prototypes. We just want you to get an idea.
What the picture does not show is the final look of the Monologue. The Monologue is in fact a double speaker, used for lateral, rear or front single speaker where budget or available room strongly limits the use of a pair of speakers. By mixing the Trilogue, one or two subwoofer, a possible additional center speaker and 1 to 4 rear speakers made of Trilogue or Monologue, all possible configutations are covered, from very reasonable and inobstrusive to very high end and wide-covering ones.

Lowest ever Goldmund Warranty Repairs.
For any high quality products manufacturer, the rate of warranty repairs is a very good indication of its own quality control and manufacturing quality. For several years now, we keep a very careful tracking of this and we fight for improving our quality.
This is why we are especially proud to announce that 1999 has been our best year ever for quality. For the first time, the rate of equipment returned for repair within the waranty period has dropped below 1%, the goal we fixed in 1993… A long and painful process but finally succesful.
Interesting information, our weakest point of the past has always been damage due to harmful handling by shippers. By drastically imposing shipment on palets, we finally got through. All experiences we made in the past with wood crates, beeter boxes, etc… proved unsuccessful. Only the palets work…
Another good improvement factor has been the automatic computer test bench we implemented in 1998. Now each product we make is automatically tested and if the computer refuses it, it is not shipped.
More, since early 1999, we improved our warming up procedure so most of the amps we ship have been heated up strongly before shipping.
Good for a Goldmund customer to know that we care more and more about the quality of what we ship. But this is not enough. The technical quality of the dealer who install the product is responsible for nearly 80% of the remaining problems : inadequate installation, improper handling, lack of technical knowledge… This is especially noticeable for the less competent retailers we are dealing with : more than 80% of the problems which remain are appearing with 20% only of our retailers : a good proof that a good retailer selling a Goldmund product today has very little chance to get a problem.. Shame to the others for keeping our numbers up…
Vintage Repair Shop.
Believe it or not we still receive plenty of demand to repair and maintain the original Goldmund products, the Goldmund T3 Tone Arm and Studio Tuntable. Considering their age (usually around 15 year old), our regular service people, more aware of the digital Audio intricacies, get lost easily in the customer requests or tonearm idiosyncrasies.
However, we are extremely proud to see that such very early (and to some extent amateurish) products still make the joy and pride of their owner, carrying our flag among the most traditionalist audiophiles without problems. Thanks to the heavy demand, we have decided to establish a special service for these beauties of the past. We called it the Vintage Repair Shop and will let you know as soon as it is available to service your babies.
