New Products - Product Improvements
The Goldmund Easyline DVD here soon.
The probably most unexpected product from Goldmund will be here soon. A small and reasonably priced DVD player, called the Goldmund Easyline DVD, able to play CD, CD-R, CD Video and DVD Video will join our Entry line (also called the “Reasonable Line”) of products. With Digital audio output and composite, S-Video and Component Video outputs this unit will be the base of our smaller Home-Theater systems. The unit mechanical quality has been especially well treated, using the technologies of disk clamping we developed in our famous line of CD transports. We should be able to deliver the first units this summer.
The new Mimesis 27+ and Mimesis 28+
The Mimesis 27 will receive in June a small upgrade which we call the 27+. Improved sonically to make it closer in sound quality from the legendary Mimesis 22, provided with a gain internal adjustment to better match any system, the new Mimesis 27+ will also be cosmetically improved with sides and top of the chassis in aluminum thick plates, providing a more damped and better sounding enclosure. Current Mimesis 27 may be upgraded but only in our factory. We are taking orders right now.
The Mimesis 28 should follow with the same type of enclosure improvement and a new front panel board, providing a better control of the amplifier, and a RS232 connection for software upgrade of future extensions (auto-start of the amplifier, remote control by centralized remote controls, etc…). We expect to deliver the first units some time in July.
The Goldmund Mimesis 22 temporary delay for more production reliability.
The Mimesis 22 preamplifier is currently suffering a long delay in its delivery and the waiting list is severely hurting our best customers. The decision to postpone deliveries has been taken by our Technical manager in order to make the production more reliable and more constant. In fact the unit is so sophisticated we encountered few production problems in the past months. We preferred to launch a complete revision of the manufacturing process rather than delivering unreliable units. We hope you will agree with this decision despite the difficulties it may create for customers waiting for their beloved Mimesis 22.

New Goldmund Building.
The continuous growth of our business during the last months has made our current offices and factory quite cramped. Despite constant extension (we now use 4 separate locations inside the main building and have reserved more space when other tenant leave), we foresee no possibility to home the business we will have next year at our present location.
In order to provide a real service and beautiful environment to visit for our customers, we recently decided to build our own building in Geneva where we will group most of our activities in a much more practical a spacious way. We already bought a piece of land of 120’000 sqft in Geneva most prestigious business park and we will start building our “Home” within a few weeks.
Everybody here is very excited about the idea and we are sure that those who will visit us in the future will find it more prestigious and better matching our brand image.
Our new building will also home the long-awaited Goldmund Custom Shop service, with all facilities to receive these special customers who want a product made especially for them, special color, special design, etc… Among the first available products from the Custom Shop will be the Goldmund Millennium amplifier (yet to be announced, but already making people frantic) with 10 pairs reserved in advance for the Custom Shop including the “Magic” serial numbers : 01, 88, 99 etc.. from the maximum of 50 pairs we will make in subscription.
Double Internet Speed.
In order to better serve the growing traffic on our web site, we recently doubled our proprietary Internet link from 64k to 128k. Using a leased line at guaranteed throughput, we will be serving much more traffic by such a connection than even the most usual HDSL connections.
To allow further developments and experiment real time music distribution, a very critical future technology, we also reserved a “broadband” connection, which will allow us to provide you with experimental sources like 96k 24 bits digital in real time. More to be announced about that soon.
Growing Team again.
Our team continues its constant growth. We want to welcome Sebastien Benz, in charge of our hardware development team and who will insure a more constant flow of new products from Goldmund.
We will also soon increase our software development team and our administration with new members that we will present you as soon as they are in house.
