The Logos growing family

Here are more views of the new Goldmund Logos speaker associated with its two first accessories, the Logos Stand (Floor standing support) and the Logos Bracket (Wall mounting or Shelf mounting). For the curious, we will have many more models and accessories soon and also some pictures of first customer’s small Home-Theater setups.
The new Mimesis 24 Multichannel Decoder
We are hard working on finishing the design of the new Mimesis 24 which is the Audio Control Box of our top Chiasma Home-Theater Ultimate system. The Mimesis 24 will receive all Audio inputs (7 x analogue including 2 x 6 channels for DVD-Audio and SACD multichannel, and 7 x digital) of our big Home-Theater configuration, decode in multichannel the AC3 (and other formats, but who cares ?…) signals and output to 3 x 8 digital channels to cover multizone configurations and all multi-channel formats. The Mimesis 24 looks very much like a Mimesis 22 and should be seen as a prototype during the Vegas CES in January.
The Chiasma latest Evolution
We showed the first Chiasma prototypes quite a few years ago. Since that early prototyping, the Chiasma has received several evolutions which we can resume in saying that the Chiasma1 will remain only the master computer in a system but will assume several functions. Faster than before, with a much improved power supply to provide the necessary sound quality to the audio signals traveling in the computer, the Chiasma 1 will keep the control of all connected units, mainly the Mimesis 24 for the Audio signals and the future Goldmund Video Processor for the Video signals.
In addition to the control functions, the Chiasma1 will be provided with a central Music Server Software function to store the music in a full house installation. Able to record from Internet or from the built-in CD-Rom at high speed, the Chiasma will keep the music either in MP3, AAC or Wave format on Hard disk to be then distributed to the house or central system. This new function will be demonstrated during the coming CES in Vegas next January. With the now-long Goldmund competence of handling Audio Signals in computers at the highest quality, with the specially designed Power Supply, and sound cards, with assistance of our sister company AudioNetworks for the Audio software quality, the Chiasma will become the highest quality Music Server ever produced.

What is a Goldmund TeraVault ?
We announced to some degree that we were working on Music Server technology, see the Chiasma chapter above.
But to keep the quality of large music libraries, a very large Hard Disk base is necessary and the single 100GB disk of the Chiasma would be filled quite soon. So, in order to provide solutions for real music lovers with a large database, the Chiasma1 storage may be extended using one or more of a new Goldmund unit, which will be called the TeraVault.
As safe as a Swiss Vault, as expensive as a Swiss account, the TeraVault will have a basic minimum storage size of one Terabyte.
With its Gigabit link with the Chiasma1, it will be able to provide several simultaneous channels of music 24 hours a day without interruption and without playing the same piece twice for months or years.
With its Sylans construction, it will be totally silent, a strong advantage if located in the listening room.
The TeraVault software, based on Windows 2000 (maybe XP soon but we have to test it, you know…) will be using a lot of AudioNetworks improvements.
The TeraVault is and will remain for quite some time the most expensive Goldmund product ever made. If you want to see one, we may bring with us the working prototype in Vegas next January.
