New Products - Product Improvements
The Goldmund Reference DVD seriously delayed.
After several structural changes in its internal design, we will have to postpone the introduction of the Eidos Reference until early 2004. Most of the critical mechanics have changed in the last few weeks and we also decided to upgrade seriously the D/A built-in circuits. So we may show you prototype pictures but not the final machine as we hoped we could by now.
For price indication and subscription conditions, we may finally announce it during the January CES in Las Vegas.
New Goldmund Mimesis 18.4 proves exceptional during first listening tests.
The new Goldmund Mimesis 18.4 is the new mono version of the Mimesis 28 family. Built in a new half-size case, two of them side by side are just the same size as a Mimesis 28M. Made to fit both two channel and multi-channel usage, it is standard with both analogue (RCA and XLR) and digital (RCA) input and includes an Alize 4 module of latest generation. In addition, an input level attenuator helps tuning multi-speaker and multi-channel installations. In addition to these new features, the Mimesis 18.4 also provides the Goldmund Speaker cable coaxial connector in addition to the regular 5-way binding post, has all the safety protections against HF and DC, and is standard with an auto-start signal sensing circuitry so it may be left powered on at all times.
But what was even less expected by Goldmund fans is the sonic quality. The result of another step in improvement of the JOB4 circuitry, it gives the Mimesis 18.4 more authority, transparency and relaxed sound than other comparable amplifiers, with the large power of one Mimesis 28M channel.
Starting delivery in January, the Mimesis 18.4 is promised to a big success, being both the best and most convenient amplifier for High end systems ever made by Goldmund.
Marketing News
SRDVD best seller of the year for Goldmund.
After the Mimesis 24, for 6 months on top of our sales list, the new SRDVD SR multiformat transport is this month becoming our top seller. In addition to its reasonable price and the sound quality it can produce in CD and DVD playback, the SRDVD also provides SACD playback, a pretty good D/A built-in with multi-channel analogue outputs and a very quiet and clean Video output. After its first introduction last August, it quickly became a big seller and has grown this month over all other Goldmund products sold this year ! Of course, it is quite severely backordered… Sorry.
