Goldmund Mimesis 30 16-ch Preamplifier on long waiting list
The success was expected. The Mimesis 30 is finally the absolute solution for any system’s preamplifier. Both the best sounding ever made for a 2 channel system and for a Multi-channel system, capable of driving 16 channel simultaneously, to accept 2-ch and 6-ch analogue inputs, digital inputs in RCA, XLR, ATT, Toslink, to drive simultaneously 8 different rooms with different sources, it is also more affordable than the Mimesis 24, his big brother.
Since the production process is highly automated to avoid performance fluctuation in the extremely complex circuitry, the Mimesis 30 can only be manufactured in large batches with long cycles. And the bad news is we already oversold the first batch… So, please do not get mad if you now have to wait a little before getting yours, and when we mean a little, count in months, not in days…
Goldmund Eidos Reference on long waiting list too…
The Eidos Reference is a surprising product. April has been our first subscription month and guess what ? We already sold 33% of the batch during the first month, with no unit yet visible… or audible… Thank you for your confidence.
We also used April to announce a little bit more about the unit, essentially the Alize 5 circuit which will be built-in, allowing D/A to cover all formats including SACD and 192k DVD-Audio with an even better sound quality than the Alize 4… We also confirmed the SACD in digital will be made available on IEEE1394 and we gave full details on the Video Digital Goldmund solution, the "Optical DVI" which will be introduced in the Eidos Reference for the first time.
We also had already to raise slightly the price for subscriptions received after September 1st. So hurry to subscribe if you want one. And be patient. As you know, we planned to make only 2 per month…

Fake Dealers Beware !
The proliferation of second hand market in Southeast Asia (Hong Kong and Singapore too) is generating some dramatic consequences for some of the Goldmund friends who "naively" (or so we want to believe !) acquired a product from their network.
We recently had two serious legal incidents with such Goldmund equipment, one because the indelicate dealer "forgot" to mention to his customer that the Goldmund piece he bought was not new, and did not work, missing even a part inside, which made the customer mad, desperate, and helpless. The other because the other indelicate dealer resold a stolen product… making the naive acquirer in a position to go to jail… How nice, how delicate…
There are such dealers in many countries and they are networking with other indelicate dealers in the US or Europe to make the products disappear from where they are known and reappear where naive customers do not understand anything but big discounts…
We reiterate our numerous previous alarms : be very careful. If you purchase a Goldmund piece from such a dealer, you have to know that nobody will probably agree to service it (risk is too big), you will never become eligible for Goldmund upgrades, and you may be in serious legal position if it proves the equipment you bought has a "illegal" provenance. Do not forget these marvelous dealer always remove the serial numbers, so you have no warranty and they also ignore we have an internal serial number which makes it easy for us to prove the original serial number of an"illegal" unit.
Here are two "hot addresses" we especially recommend to avoid…

Cable Guarantee
The Goldmund DVI Optical cable has proved to be a very fragile item, with a lot of those we sold being improperly used and broken by their installer. Since we tested each of them before delivery, we cannot accept those anymore under warrantee. Very sorry, but if you may explain how a glass fiber can be interrupted after few days magically, we could reconsider, but seen as it is now, a strong shock on the cable or a bending too aggressive is the only way such accident can happen and we do not feel like being responsible. Do not forget Glass breaks…
