The Eidos 20DVD is a CD, and DVD player with HDMI 1.3 Video output. It includes Stereo and 6-channel Analog Audio Outputs with 192kHz, 24dB playback capability.
The Eidos 20DVD is one of the members of a new family of players especially improved for a low rotational speed of CD/DVD. What qualifies this latest evolution is an outstanding reading precision that only Goldmund players can offer (see also the Eidos 20CD player and the Eidos 20BD universal player) and that translates into a definite transparence and realism of the sound.
This precision has been achieved thanks to different technologies developed by Goldmund over the years:
• Mechanical grounding: it newly designed chassis is reinforced and it includes a metal tray machined from an aluminum bloc.
• Magnetic Damping: this technology has been borrowed from the Goldmund Ultimate line players. It utilizes a very strong Magnetic field to damp the overshoot of the lens assembly, the most typical source of reading errors.
• AC Curator: its power supply filters high and low frequencies to cancel spurious noise generated through the AC power line by other equipment or nearby machinery.
Its built-in 2-channel and 6-channel D/A converters may be used for practicality, but the Eidos 20DVD best performance is achieved when playing CD’s through the digital Audio Output, available both on SPDIF and Toslink.
The Eidos 20DVD is delivered with a black top but can also come with a silver top (optional).
