Epilogue 1 & 2
High-End Epilogue Speaker System
- The Epilogue 2 is the Bass unit of the Epilogue system.
- It may be used as the middle section in the full system but may also be associated with a single pair of satellites to constitute a very high-end Hi-Fi or Home-Theater full range system, the second step of the Epilogue line of modular speakers.
- Its fully metallic enclosure mixing brass, aluminum and steel parts allows a rigidity never achieved before with any kind of other materials. Seals in neoprene between all adjacent parts guarantee the enclosure airtightness without aging degradation.
- The Mechanical Grounding construction provides a perfect evacuation of the enclosure's spurious vibrations, increasing dramatically the dynamic accuracy of the satellite. The Mechanical Grounding is linked by its internal structure to the Satellite system sitting on the top.
- The enclosure uses a very original proprietary drivers configuration: 4 x 21cm drivers are used in push-pull pairs, the chassis of the two front drivers facing the listener.

The cone uses also a new proprietary material called "Kevlar Velvet", an heterogeneous Kevlar texture killing any usual cone resonance.

The crossover network of very high complexity (more than 120 elements) has two functions :
- It tunes and compensates the 4 internal drivers in amplitude and time response and matches the Epilogue 1 Satellite in impedance and efficiency.
- It provides a separate output to connect the Epilogue 1 Satellite System when used in mono-amping. The Satellite bandwidth bass response is cut to match the Epilogue 2 and to allow reproduction at very high sound pressure levels without damage for the Epilogue 1 woofer.
- The Epilogue 1 and Epilogue 2 when used in combination can be bi-wired or bi-amped using the two separate crossover inputs for low frequency and high-frequency sections. They can also be used with a single amplifier.
- Two direct coaxial connectors of the same standard used in the Goldmund Ultra-High Definition speaker cable allow the direct connection to the two sections of the Epilogue 1+ Epilogue 2 speaker system, minimizing the detrimental effects of bad connections such as bananas and spades. In addition, a third coaxial connector is provided to link the Epilogue 1 Satellite System to the Epilogue 2 Crossover.
- The enclosure is vented by two separately tuned flexible ports, vent oriented toward the face of the enclosure. The cutoff frequency in the Epilogue 2 is 26Hz at Ð3 dB.
