Goldmund is famous for making the best power amplifiers and preamplifiers in the analog domain. The Mimesis 22 and the Telos families have very clearly established this fact. A lot of analog amateurs who believe in tradition and long term investment subsist today and they’ve been using our products for many years, some of them since the 80’s with our turntables and tone arm.
The Mythos 2 has been designed for these audiophile purists, faithful to the analog sound, who want to get the best out of their LPs. It offers the same performance as our digital preamplifiers, with the Leonardo correction and even Proteus, but within an analog system.
It uses the new "high dynamics" A/D converters of the Alize 7 family and an Alize 6 for the D/A . This confers the Mythos 2 a unique sound transparency that makes it acceptable to analog purists even if the process inside is digital. The reason is that they suddenly re-discover their systems.
Based on the Mimesis 16 design, the Mythos 2 is a 2-channel acoustic processor that can do most of what the other Goldmund processors can do: - Room acoustic treatment (mode suppression without time distortion) - Leonardo correction for Epilogue 1 or Epilogue 1+2 - Speaker correction - 4-channel crossover with any kind of filtering
