Mythos 2
The software needed to operate the Mythos 2 Analog Acoustic Processor is available from this page. You will find below the exe files for download and installation instructions for:
- 1. The Mythos 2 Configurator
- 2. The Mythos 2 Firmware Loader
1. Configurator
A specific Configurator program is needed to configure a Mythos 2 in a defined system. It may be installed easily on any windows operating systems and it is also used to download the resulting configuration to the Mythos 2.
The Mythos Configurator will allow you to:
- Access and change the configuration used in a Mythos 2
- Reset the Mythos 2 configuration to factory default
- Add global video delay (0 to 250 ms by 1 ms steps)
- Change the input channels used in output mix
- Add fine delay to any input channel used in mix (0 to 20 ms by 10.4 us)
- Add filters to any output channel
Download the Mythos 2 configurator (version1.0: initial release) here: Myhtos2configurator.exe.
Installation
You will first need to install the FTDI USB driver. For that, please follow the instructions listed in the document "Windows_XP_Installation_Guide.pdf" located inside the "Driver_USB_FTDI" folder.
The Mythos 2 configurator executable ("mythos2conf.exe") can be run from any writable directory of your computer, but you may want to copy it under the "C:\Program Files\mythos2conf" and create a shortcut on your desktop.
Once this has been done, you should be able to connect the "CTRL" USB port of the Mythos 2 to a computer with an USB cable, and to power it up.
You should now be ready to use the Mythos 2 Configurator.
Process
Run the mythos2conf.exe executable. The first thing to do is to choose the com port that the USB driver created (usually the last one, I.E. COM3). Note that the Mythos 2 configurator automatically selects the last com port available.
If the com port of the Mythos 2 does not show, use the refresh button located on the left of the port list. (the "Refresh Ports List" command can also be found in the "Action" menu on the higher part of the window.)
Once you have selected the right USB port, you can press the "Get device config" to see the actual configuration. Edit the configuration, save it to a file, or load another configuration file according to your needs. If you press the "Send config to device", the configuration will be sent to the Mythos 2, applied, but not saved on the device. You can listen to your changes, and if you are happy with them, press "save". Otherwise, press "cancel" to restore the previous configuration.
2. Firmware Loader
Please download the firmware loader (version 1.1) here: Mythos2fwloader.exe.
Installation
First, you need to install the FTDI USB driver. For that, please follow the instruction of the "Windows_XP_Installation_Guide.pdf" located inside "the Driver_USB_FTDI" folder.
Once that is done, you should be able to connect the "CTRL" USB port of the Mythos2 to a computer with an USB cable, and power it up.
You should now be ready to use the Mythos2 firmware loader.
Process
Run the mythos2loader.exe executable. The first thing to do is to choose the com port that the USB driver created (usually the last one, I.E. COM3). Note that the Mythos2 firmware loader automatically selects the last com port available automatically.
If the com port of the Mythos2 does not show, use the "Refresh Ports List" command located in the "Action" menu at the window's top.
- !!! WARNING !!!
During the update process, all user configuration as filter, output configuration, etc... are reset to default factory settings.
Then you need to choose the firmware that will be uploaded to the Mythos2. Press the "Browse" button and choose the appropriate "Mythos2_uCx_x_DSPx_x.myth2" (x_x version can change depending of the release version).
You can now press the "Send!" button to upload the firmware. If the device is recognized, the program will display the firmware versions and ask confirmation. Press "Ok" and wait for the process to be completed.
