SR8F
Special Configurator program is needed to configure a SR8F in a specific system. It may be installed easily on any windows operating systems and it is also used to download the resulting configuration to the SR8F.
Based on the SR8 configurator, this new configurator version has three additional functions:
- Maximum number of available filters is set to:
- 8 for the output 1 to 4 (channel 1)
- 8 for the output 1 to 4 (channel 2)
- Implementation of high-pass, low-pass and band-reject filters
- Choice of 3 different filters types (Butterworth, Bessel, Tchebycheff)
- Logos1 optimised crossover
NB: be careful to enter:
- the Logos1 high-pass filter on vhannel 1 (tweeter)
- the Logos1 low-pass filter on channel 2 (woofer)
- the Logos1 tweeter attenuation of 8 dB on channel 1
- Fine step delay tuning
- Video and audio synchronization
In order to upgrade your SR8 to a SR8F version or upgrade the version of your SR8F, please follow the procedure below.

Download part
- Download the program: SR8F_111Setup.exe (Setup version 1.11, 03 October 2007)
- Run the program and follow the installation stages.

SR8F software installation part
The upgrade program is an enhanced version of the previous programs. The upgrade process takes place automatically without need to select individual files.- Connect your SR8 to your computer using a RS232 null modem cable and power ON your machine.
- Double-click on the icon SR8Fconf located on your computer desktop. A message asks you if you want to convert or upgrade your SR8. Click Yes.
- A second window appears, click Proceed. Finally, if you are converting your SR8 to SR8F, a message asks you to confirm the conversion. Click Yes. The upgrade task begins. It lasts about 35 minutes. Do not use your computer during the upgrade task. At the end of the upgrade, the configurator appears. The upgrade from SR8 into SR8F is complete. Please read the Configuration part below to configure your machine.

Configuration part
- Click on Load a configuration file and select DefConf_customer.dat
- The file is located in the directory \SR8F.

The configuration edition takes place in two stages:
- Configure your SR8F as desired.

Please consult the files SR8FConf.pdf and FilterConf.pdf for further information. These files are available in the Start Menu at the path:
Start\Programs\Goldmund\SR8F\Documentation... - Upload your configuration into your SR8F.
- To tune fine delays and filters, you can reedit your configuration and use the Test buttons to load new delays and filters into your SR8F for verification.
- After having finished editing your configuration, save it by clicking on Save configuration to file.
- Upload your configuration into your SR8F by clicking on Upload configuration into SR8F.
Note: for future use, a shortcut of the configurator program is available on your computer desktop as well as in the Start Menu at the path:
Start\Programs\Goldmund\SR8F...
If you need to remove the installation, it is recommended to do it properly using the program Uninstall.exe , available in the Start Menu at the path: Start\Programs\Goldmund\SR8F...
All directories and files are removed apart from the user customized files: *.dat and *.fil.
